HIV virus shown entering the blood stream, HIV approaches white T Lymphocyte cell which it attacks, binding to proteans on the cell surface. The HIV aids virus then injects its DNA which makes its way to the T-Lymphocyte cells nucleus. More HIV aids viruses are grown here which then bud away from the T-Lymphocyte surface thus spreading the aids infection. HIV develops as the white T cells gradually die and the immune system collapses.
HIV Aids (autoimmunodeficiency virus) is thought to have developed in Cameroon, having spread from chimpanzees to humans around 1930, possibly due to a hunter butchering or consuming bush meat infected with SIV (Simian Immunodeficiency Virus) with the SIV then mutating to HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). HIV / AIDS was officially recognized in 1981 with aids being first diagnosed in San Fransisco. Thousands of Africans may already have died of the HIV AIDS before this recognition, upto one million may have been already infected with HIV. By the early 1990's many millions of Africans were infected. By 2005, 40.3 million people have HIV AIDS with 3.1 million deaths of HIV / AIDS related causes in 2005 alone. An African HIV problem is now a global HIV problem. When lives are neglected anywhere, lives are at risk everywhere.
